Convert more visitors into paying customers with Pre-Populated Checkout Forms.

Getting visitors to your checkout page can be a lot of work and occasionally expensive. That's why it's so important to do everything in your power to make paying you as easy and enticing as possible. Thankfully, SamCart offers plenty of tools that tip the scales in your favor, including the ability to Pre-Propulate your Checkout Forms.

This allows your customers to spend less time typing information that you've already gathered, which can boost sales by up to 56%.

Intro To URL Parameters

URL Parameters sound scary and technical, but are nothing more than short additions to the end of a URL.

Adding "?" to the end of your URL allows you to add extra text to the URL that won't affect where your visitors are taken to when they click your link or type in your page's address.

You can then attach the following URL Parameters to the end of any checkout page URL. The text that comes after the equal sign will be pre-populated into the corresponding fields on your page.

  • First Name: first_name=
  • Last Name: last_name=
  • Email: email=
  • Phone Number: phone_number=
  • Coupon: coupon=

So, if a customer clicks on the link below, the First Name field will be pre-populated with "Bruce."

You can add more URL parameters (separated by an &) to also pre-populate the Last Name field with Wayne:

Not so hard, right? Let’s talk about how to easily add URL Parameters for a whole bunch of people at one time.

Plug & Play Merge Codes/Tags

You can easily pre-populate your checkout pages for a big group of people by using Merge Codes (occasionally called Merge Tags).

Merge Codes are available when you send an email from ConvertKit, Ontraport, InfusionSoft, AWeber, ActiveCampaign, Hubspot, MailChimp, GetResponse, or any other email marketing tool that SamCart integrates with.

Instead of having to create unique links to each individual subscriber, you can use a Merge Code to have your email marketing service automatically pull in each subscriber's First Name, Last Name, Email, and/or Phone Number.

This provides your email subscribers with a personalized checkout page that feels like it was made just for them. It's these little details that the most successful sellers pay attention to in order to convert their marketing lists into profit!
